Ramanagara, Nov 15: In a remarkable display of communal harmony, Channapatna, the town famous for its wooden toys, has once again stood as a shining example of Hindu-Muslim unity. A Muslim businessman has funded the complete reconstruction of the centuries-old Basaveshwara Temple at Mangalvarapete in the town, spending several crores of rupees on the project.
The temple, which had fallen into a dilapidated state, has now been beautifully rebuilt with a donation of Rs 3 crore from S K Beedi owner, Syed Sadathulla Sakhaf. He not only financed the reconstruction but also actively participated in the temple’s inauguration ceremony, setting an inspiring example of interfaith solidarity.
