ANGLETON, Texas (KBTX) - The College Station Cougars (7-4) beat Angleton (9-2) 42-23 at Wildcat Stadium Friday in the bi-district round of the 5A Div. I playoffs.
Why did College Station win? The Cougars ran away with this one in the second half. Once starting quarterback Keaton Johnson came out of the game, backup Noah Symank came in and had a couple of rushing touchdowns.
Who stood out? Quarterback Keaton Johnson rushed for two touchdowns and ran for over 100 yards in the first half alone.
On defense, Wade Couch made life hard for the Wildcats and had a multi-sack game.
What’s next? The Cougars advance to the area round for the 11th straight year and will take on Beaumont United next week.
