Thiruvananthapuram: Gold prices in Kerala fell again on Friday, bringing some relief to buyers after weeks of steep increases. The price of eight grams of 22 carat gold dropped by about Rs 1440 in a single revision, marking one of the biggest declines this month. Retailers also reduced the per gram rate by around Rs 180, reflecting a clear cooling in the local market.

The fall comes at a time when shops across India are reporting weak demand. Many jewellers are offering higher discounts to attract customers after sales slowed down following the festive season. International market trends and a softer dollar have also contributed to the dip in prices.
