No. 1 Central-Phenix City overcame an early deficit and numerous penalties to defeat Fairhope 34-15 in second round Class 7A playoff action at Fairhope Municipal Stadium Friday night.

Jayshaun Woodhouse rushed 16 times for 126 yards and had a 54-yard touchdown run in the closing moments of the game as the Red Devils improved to 11-1. Quarterback Bobby Coleman battled a stout Pirate defense and finished the night 18 of 26 for 193 yards and two touchdowns. Jack Ciancio had field goals of 24 and 27 yards, and Kam Heard returned an onside kick 49 yards for a score.
