ROCHESTER HILLS – Sometimes, teams just have the number of an opponent.
Rochester Adams has surely had Romeo’s in recent years.
After defeating Romeo 39-7 in Week 1 of the regular season, the Highlanders recorded bookend wins over the Bulldogs – this time with the stakes much higher in a 29-13 victory Friday over Romeo in a Division 1 regional finals clash at Adams.
The Highlanders also opened last season with a 22-21 overtime win over Romeo to help go 3-0 against the Bulldogs over two seasons.
Adams (10-2) will face Detroit Cass Tech in the state semifinals next Saturday in the Division 1 state semifinals at a location and time to be announced.
It marks the seventh regional championship in school history and seventh trip to the Final Four for the Highlanders – all under coach Tony Pa
