Rahul Gandhi also attended the review meeting of the defeat held at party president Mallikarjun Kharge's residence.
After a heavy defeat in the Bihar elections, Congress convened its first major review meeting in Delhi on Saturday. The meeting was held at the residence of party president Mallikarjun Kharge, with Rahul Gandhi, KC Venugopal, and Ajay Maken in attendance.
During the meeting, leaders reviewed the election results, discussed organizational shortcomings, and suggested strategies for the future. According to sources, the party is now trying to understand why it suffered such a heavy defeat in Bihar.
In this election, Congress fielded candidates in 60 seats but managed to win only 6. The party’s vote share remained at 8.71%, compared to 9.6% in 2020 when it contested 70 seats.
