A health nonprofit in northeastern Washington will be expanding its reach in an underserved rural region.
As part of the resolution to reopen the federal government, Congress voted to secure funding for multiple projects in Washington state, including $2 million of those dollars going to NEW Health’s Chewelah branch.
Desiree Sweeney, the organization’s CEO, said the funds will be used to create both clinical and nonclinical jobs in the organization. This, she said, will allow her organization to expand workforce development, as well as dental and health access for future generations in northeastern Washington.
