The second round of the NCHSAA high school football playoffs is in the books. Here’s a look at players who shined during the postseason’s opening week in Cleveland, Gaston and LIncoln counties.

Kaiden Blackwell, Ashbrook: Had an 11-yard touchdown reception in a 22-14 win over Statesville..

Savion Lindsay, Ashbrook: Had a rushing touchdown.

A.J. McClain, Ashbrook: Threw an 11-yard touchdown pass and had a 10-yard TD run.

Mason Bralley, Burns: Had a 61-yard TD reception in the Bulldogs’ 49-7 win over West Stanly.

Chris Dawkins, Burns: Had touchdown runs of 10 and 64 yards.

Drew Dixon, Burns: Had a 35-yard touchdown run and threw two TD passes.

Justyn Porter, Burns: Returned an interception for a touchdown.

Jude Towery, Burns: Recovered a fumble.
