Birmingham may be the closest - and one of the biggest - Christmas markets around but there’s another that’s just been voted one of the UK’s best and it’s not too far from Coventry .

Which? has published their list of best UK Christmas markets this week and Chester has been named one of the top.

It will take you about two hours in the car to get there from Coventry but with artisan crafts, fascinating history and of course plenty of festive food and drink, it’s well worth a day trip.

Which? points to Chester’s ‘laid back’ atmosphere and lack of crowds as well as plenty of available parking when explaining why it ranked so highly.

And of course, there’s a huge Christmas tree to get you in the festive spirit.
