HUNTINGTON — The Marshall University football team travels to Georgia State on Saturday as it seeks the first of the two wins it needs for bowl eligibility with three to play.
The Thundering Herd (4-5, 2-3 SBC) fell 35-23 to No. 24 James Madison last week. The Thundering Herd was within five points before a final touchdown from the Dukes as the game wound down.
“It stings and it hurts, but we have to move on. We’re playing a Georgia State team offensively that has some weapons. I believe they have the best wide receiver in the Sun Belt. The running backs run hard,” Marshall coach Tony Gibson said. “Their quarterbacks are mobile. They present some issues. We’re going to turn our attention to them, as we did on Saturday.”
The Herd’s bright spots in that contest came from its run game. Mar
