PGA Tour star Justin Thomas announced Friday that he has undergone disc surgery to address back issues, which will cause him to miss the early part of the 2026 season.
A successful microdiscectomy was performed Thursday in New York, per Thomas, alleviating a disc problem that had been causing hip pain.
Thomas, 32, is a 16-time PGA event champion, having won the PGA Championship in 2017 and 2022.
He posted the news on Instagram, saying in part, "I'm not putting any tournament on the calendar or specific time for returning. While I will miss some events in the beginning of 2026, I want to be very smart and patient in letting my disc fully heal so it isn't an issue again."
