There was a moment during a recent Detroit Red Wings practice when coach Todd McLellan pulled aside Marco Kasper.
The 21-year-old forward hasn't looked quite as impressive to start the 2025-26 season as he did the second half of last season. Back then, he played so well he was promoted to center the second line, between Patrick Kane and Alex DeBrincat. Kasper began in that spot last month, but as the games went by – 17, in all – and Kasper was stuck at three points, McLellan switched Kasper to play center on the third line.
