HOLD THE PHONE, the New Hampshire Democratic Party just might be in reach of getting a serious contender to run for governor against incumbent Kelly Ayotte in 2026.
She’s former Executive Councilor and 2024 primary runner-up Cinde Warmington of Concord.
After an exhaustive and expensive primary bid last year, many party officials thought Warmington would sit out next year’s cycle.
Warmington did look at a run for the U.S. House in the 2nd Congressional District in 2026 had first-term U.S. Rep. Maggie Goodlander decided to run for the U.S. Senate, but Goodlander is staying put.
Those close to Warmington say she’s doing the due diligence to decide whether a run for governor is the right move for her.
Like other Democratic party leaders, she’s watched as Ayotte has had to deal with
