A teen was stabbed during a violent fight behind a business, Suffolk County police announced on Thursday, Nov. 20.
A 911 caller reported a group of youths fighting in the rear parking lot of 169 Orinoco Drive in Brightwaters on Wednesday, Nov. 19 at 8:55 p.m., where officers arrived to find a 17-year-old boy suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was taken to a local hospital in serious condition, according to the release.
Detectives from the Third Squad identified another 17-year-old boy as the suspect and arrested him at his home. His name is being withheld due to his age. He has been charged with Gang Assault, Felony, police said.
He is being held overnight and is scheduled to appear for arraignment in the Youth Part of First District Court in Central Islip on Thursday, Nov. 20.
