Kevin Spacey, the Oscar-winning actor known for "American Beauty" and "House of Cards," says he is now homeless, living in hotels and Airbnbs after years of legal battles drained his finances.

The 66-year-old actor made the revelation in an in-depth interview published Wednesday, Nov. 19, by The Telegraph, describing his current situation as “not great.”

Spacey told the outlet that “astronomical” legal costs from sexual assault allegations over the past seven years have left him with little income.

“I have lost my home in Baltimore, and I’m now living here and there, in hotels and Airbnbs," Spacey told The Telegraph. "All my belongings are in storage."

Despite his hardships, he remains hopeful for a career comeback, saying he believes work will resume “once a figure of significant authority gives him permission to do so.”

Born in South Orange, New Jersey, Spacey rose to fame with acclaimed roles in films like "The Usual Suspects," "Se7en," "L.A. Confidential," and "American Beauty," for which he won his second Academy Award.

He also starred as Frank Underwood in the Netflix series "House of Cards," earning a Golden Globe and two Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Spacey’s career came to a halt in 2017 after multiple allegations of sexual misconduct surfaced. Netflix quickly cut ties with him, removing him from "House of Cards" and shelving his planned biopic of Gore Vidal.

Spacey has denied all accusations and was found not liable in a 2022 civil lawsuit in New York. In a separate case in London, he was acquitted by a jury in 2023.

Despite his legal troubles and financial struggles, Spacey told The Telegraph he is optimistic about the future. “I remain hopeful,” he said, “that I will be able to work again.”
