A young Scottish mum has made an emotional plea for the gift of life this Christmas as she searches for an organ donor.

Laura Hayman, 29, was diagnosed with kidney failure in 2017 after weeks of feeling unwell, reports The Record.

She was immediately started on dialysis treatment to remove toxins from her body as a result of her condition before she received a transplant from her dad, Paul, later that same year.

After the operation initially went well, Laura, from Motherwell, fell pregnant with her little boy Hugo three years later and her transplant organ began to fail.

By 2023, the mum-of-one was back on dialysis five times a week and has been hooked up to a machine to keep her alive for five days a week ever since and without it, she will die within days.
