Channels like ESPN, ABC and FX are returning to YouTube TV after Disney and Google’s livestreaming platform finalised a fresh licensing agreement, bringing an end to a two-week outage that had frustrated subscribers and disrupted major sports and news programming.
Disney and YouTube TV have reached a new multi-year carriage agreement, ending one of the longest and messiest blackouts in the US streaming market this year.
What the deal restores
According to Associated Press, Disney confirmed that its 'full suite of networks and stations' has begun returning to YouTube TV, with ESPN and ABC leading the comeback. YouTube TV said the channels will reappear for users 'over the course of the day' and apologised for the disruption.
