Police and locals intercepted a container truck illegally transporting cattle near Bhimabhoi Square in Redhakhol town of Sambalpur district on Saturday morning.
As a result, the operation rescued more than 35 cattle and led to the arrest of two smugglers.
Officials identified the arrested men as Salim Khan and Mohammad Salim. The truck was reportedly moving cattle from Begunia to Kharagpur. Meanwhile, Bajrang Dal activists received information and began tracking the vehicle. They then coordinated with local residents and police to stop the truck near Bhimabhoi Square.
