CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police are looking for a hit-and-run driver who allegedly drove around a school bus before striking and seriously injuring a pedestrian in a South Side crosswalk last month.

Police said the crash happened just before 7:30 a.m. on Oct. 3 in the South Shore neighborhood.

The driver was heading westbound on East 76th Street when they drove into the eastbound lane at South Crandon Avenue to go around a school bus and other traffic that was stopped at a stop sign, police said.

Police said the driver then hit a pedestrian, who was walking in the crosswalk, before fleeing the scene westbound.

The pedestrian suffered serious injuries, police said.
