External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar recently assessed the bilateral relationship between India and the United States during a conference of Indian Consuls General held in New York. The conference took place on November 14, 2025, at the Consulate General of India, where Jaishankar expressed appreciation for the efforts of the Indian Embassy and Consulates in enhancing the India-US partnership. He stated, "Reviewed our bilateral ties and support for diaspora activities. Appreciate the commitment and efforts of our Embassy & Consulates to strengthening the India-US partnership."

The event was attended by key officials, including Indian Ambassador to the U.S. Vinay Kwatra and Deputy Chief of Mission Namgya Khampa, along with envoys from various Indian Consulates across the U.S., including Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, and Seattle. The Indian Consulate in New York, led by Consul General Binaya Pradhan, expressed its honour in hosting Jaishankar, stating, "His vision, guidance and leadership strengthen our commitment to work for the India-USA partnership."

On the previous day, Jaishankar met with United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres at the UN Headquarters. He was accompanied by India's Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador P. Harish, and Deputy Permanent Representative Ambassador Yojna Patel. Following the meeting, Jaishankar shared on social media, "Good to meet with UNSG @antonioguterres in New York today. Valued his assessment of the current global order and its implications for multilateralism. Also appreciated his perspectives on various regional hotspots."

Jaishankar thanked Guterres for his consistent support for India's growth and development and expressed anticipation for the UN Chief's visit to India. Prior to his New York engagements, Jaishankar attended the G7 Foreign Ministers Meeting in Canada, where he held discussions with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and other global counterparts.
