Having finished runners-up in IPL 2024, one would have expected another consistent performance from the Pat Cummins-led Sunrisers Hyderabad, but there were disappointments galore. IPL 2025 proved to be a season of stark contrasts for Sunrisers Hyderabad.

After finishing runners-up in 2024, expectations were sky-high, but the 2025 campaign unravelled with patchy performances and an early exit from the league stage, a sharp departure from the highs of the previous year.

Hyderabad had retained Heinrich Klaasen, skipper Cummins, Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head and Nitish Kumar Reddy. This retention list is expected to be unchanged.

SRH released the likes of Aiden Markram, Upendra Yadav, Abdul Samad, Akash Singh and Wanindu Hasaranga ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction.
