Area residents working in agriculture or in support of it are among those recently honored with awards presented during recent meetings of the Colorado Cattlemen’s Association and Colorado CattleWomen.

The 2025 Outstanding Commercial Producer of the Year award was presented to Rocking U7 Ranch in Collbran, operated by Del and Lynne Sherrod. Megan Cassidy, a member of Mesa County CattleWomen, was named 2025 Colorado CattleWomen Rookie of the Year.

In addition, Justin Bennett with the U.S. Forest Service received the 2025 Public Service Award for his work during this year’s Turner Gulch Fire outside Gateway.
