(NEXSTAR) – In three months, many Americans will beam with pride as athletes compete for gold at the Winter Olympics in Italy, but bobsled hopefuls Frankie Del Duca and Jasmine Jones also represent Team USA as part of the nation’s military.
The honor of wearing the stars and stripes is not lost on Del Duca, a pilot, or breakman Jasmine Jones. The two are part of an initiative known as the World Class Athlete Program, which allows them to serve the country while also conducting elite-level training. Top-ranked athletes in Olympic sports can apply for the program.
