A day after a massive explosion at Nowgam Police Station in Srinagar claimed nine lives, Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday diffused an improvised explosive device (IED) recovered during a cordon and search operation in the Thanamandi area of Rajouri. According to officials, the explosive was safely neutralised during the ongoing operation.
The Nowgam Police Station blast late Friday night killed at least nine people and injured over 30. The explosion occurred while officials were handling a large cache of explosives recently seized in the Faridabad terror module case — the same arsenal police had confiscated in efforts to prevent potential attacks. - Ends
