After opening the season as the MLB's No.1 prospect, Boston Red Sox rookie phenom Roman Anthony did not disappoint when he was called up to the big leagues in June.
The Red Sox drafted Anthony in the second round of the 2022 MLB draft, and he has shot up through their farm system rapidly. When Boston traded Rafael Devers, it was barely over .500 with a 37-36 record. Though Anthony only appeared in 71 games, the 21-year-old's impact was clear, as the team went 46-27 with him in the lineup.
While appearing on the “Fenway Rundown” podcast with MassLive's Chris Cotillo and Sean McAdam, Red Sox legend David Ortiz dubbed Anthony the new "face of the franchise."
