₹10 Lakh announced for deceased, ₹1 lakh for injured

Srinagar, Nov 15: The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Saturday announced ex-gratia relief from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for those affected in the Nowgam Police Station blast.

Health and Medical Education Minister Sakeena Itoo said that ₹10 lakh will be provided to the families of each deceased and ₹1 lakh to every injured person, following the directions of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.

Speaking to reporters after visiting the injured at Ujala Hospital, the minister said the tragic incident claimed nine lives, while around 30 others were injured.

She said several injured persons admitted at SMHS Hospital have been discharged, while nearly 20 remain under treatment at Ujala Hospital, with one or two in the ICU but reported to
