The much-loved Tamil film Lubber Pandhu is officially being adapted into Telugu, with Rajasekhar picking up the remake rights and taking on the lead role. The project has generated buzz not only because of the film’s strong emotional core but also due to Rajasekhar’s reunion with Ramya Krishnan after nearly three decades. Filming began recently in Hyderabad.

Directed by Ani IV Sasi, son of filmmaker IV Sasi, the Telugu version will see Rajasekhar and Ramya Krishnan stepping into the roles originally played by VR Dinesh and Swasika. The pair, who delivered several successful films in the 1990s including Allari Priyudu and Balarama Krishnulu, are sharing the screen again after 27 years.
