A home is saved in Buxton

This good news story has emerged out of the chaos and collapses of 15 homes on the Cape Hatteras National Seashore since Sept. 30.

This photo, taken by photographer Daniel Pullen, shows the threatened Buxton oceanfront home and primary residence of Lat Williams after it was moved out of harm’s way on Monday, Nov. 10. The structure is scheduled to be moved to its permanent location on Wednesday, Nov. 12. As Pullen noted, the home “was almost lost in the past couple storms” and “was literally hanging on by a few pilings” before the move.
