Agartala, 15 th November 2025: A man from Bhujjur area under Srimantapur panchayat was arrested in the early morning after a firearm and cartridges were recovered from his residence during a joint operation by the BSF and Sonamura police. The incident has triggered widespread sensation in the locality.

Sources said police had received a tip-off regarding illegal weapons being stored at the house of Babul Mia. Acting on the information, a joint team of BSF personnel and Sonamura police conducted a raid at the residence.

During the search, Babul Mia and his wife Morsheda Begum allegedly attempted to obstruct the operation and engaged in a scuffle with the security personnel. The officials, however, brought the situation under control swiftly.
