HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Marshall University’s Institute for Cyber Security is launching a major research and education initiative on drone technology through a partnership with DroneTrace, officials said, calling it a potential boost to national security.
Earlier this year, Marshall and DroneTrace announced their partnership, which expanded last month when the company donated a series of specialized research drones to the university.
ICS Executive Director Alexandria Donathan said the drones will support research in three main areas: drone forensics, counter-unmanned aircraft system (UAS) technologies, and secure-by-design autonomous systems.
