WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. Postal Service announced Friday that it plans to raise prices for certain shipping services starting Jan. 18 while keeping First-Class Mail stamps unchanged . The move comes as part of the agency’s long-term plan to modernize its network.
The proposed adjustments, approved this week by the USPS Board of Governors, would increase rates roughly 6.6% for Priority Mail, 5.1% for Priority Mail Express, 7.8% for USPS Ground Advantage, and 6% for Parcel Select, officials said. Mailing services, including First-Class Mail, will not see a January increase, meaning the 63-cent stamp will remain the same.
