A Mega Millions ticket sold in Georgia won the $980 million jackpot in Friday’s lottery drawing.

The winning ticket matched all six numbers drawn: 1 , 8 , 11 , 12 and 57 , plus the gold Mega Ball 7 .

The cash option for the winner is $452.2 million.

The prize ranks as the eighth largest in Mega Millions history and represents the biggest jackpot won since the game introduced changes in April.

The jackpot had rolled over since June 27, creating a 40-drawing streak that set a record as the longest run in game history.

Three Mega Millions tickets purchased in New Jersey won prizes of $20,000 or $30,000 after matching four numbers and the Mega Ball.
