Oklahoma’s R Mason Thomas is “not expected to play today against Alabama,” Pete Thamel reports.

It has been reported the defensive end’s status for Saturday’s game against No. 4 Alabama was up in the air because of a quad injury. He is listed as doubtful for the SEC showdown.

Thamel gave the update during ESPN’s “College GameDay” soon after Kirk Herbstreit said Thomas “probably” isn’t going to play.

Thomas suffered the injury during a 71-yard fumble return for a touchdown in a Nov. 1 win over Tennessee.

Thomas leads the Sooners with 6.5 sacks this season.

ESPN reports starting cornerback Gentry Williams is also doubtful to play against the Crimson Tide.
