KARACHI:

The Karachi Traffic Police have imposed a 24-hour ban on all dumpers and tankers operating in the city, except those equipped with a tracker registered with the traffic authorities.

The decision comes after a fatal accident near Razzakabad Police Training Centre, National Highway in the early hours, where a speeding dumper collided with a rickshaw and a van, killing the rickshaw driver on the spot.

Following the incident, the DIG Traffic issued instructions to all SSPs, DSPs, and SHOs to enforce the ban on all dumpers and water tankers unless fitted with approved trackers, which remain under the control of the traffic police.
