Sir Alex Ferguson has praised Manchester United’s decision to sign Senne Lammens and believes the goalkeeper has been ‘outstanding’ since joining Old Trafford.
United were in the market for a new goalkeeper during the summer transfer window but after failing to sign Emiliano Martinez from Aston Villa, the club opted to bring in Lammens in an £18 million deal from Royal Antwerp.
Lammens had made just 52 appearances in the Belgian Pro League before his move to the Premier League and United had faced questions over whether the 23-year-old had enough experience to immediately become Amorim’s first-choice goalkeeper.
However, Lammens has looked solid in his first five appearances for United so far and Ferguson has also been impressed with the club’s summer signing.
