Legendary actor Sam Elliott is joining the cast of “Landman” for season 2.

Elliott’s casting made headlines in April, but no details about his role were shared at the time. The season 2 teaser , which dropped in September, revealed that Elliott plays Tommy Norris’ (Billy Bob Thornton) father . His character’s name is T.L. Norris.

“Just another day, pop,” Tommy tells T.L. in the teaser.

A subsequent trailer revealed more details about Tommy and T.L.’s relationship.

“We’ve avoided telling each other the truth for a long time, let’s not start now,” Tommy tells his father.
