It doesn't get more unique than where Iowa women's wrestling competed Nov. 15.
You may have heard of Grapple on the Gridiron , or wrestling in a barn , so why not an aircraft carrier?
The Hawkeyes traveled to Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, to face No. 6 Presbyterian on the deck of the USS Yorktown. Iowa came away with a 35-9 victory.
The Hawkeyes won eight of 10 bouts in the dual, moving to 3-0 on the year in duals. Of those eight wins, seven were either technical falls or pins and another four were ranked wins for Hawkeye wrestlers.
The Hawkeyes opened with three-consecutive bonus-point wins from Val Solorio (103), Nyla Valencia (110) and Brianna Gonzalez (117). Valencia had the best win of the trio, winning in a 10-0 technical fall against No. 3 ranked Chloe Dearwester.
