Denver Broncos running back J.K. Dobbins will be placed on injured reserve with a foot injury that will require surgery and likely end his season, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Dobbins, who leads Denver in rushing with 772 yards, sustained the injury as the result of a hip-drop tackle during Denver's Week 10 win over the Las Vegas Raiders .

The fifth-year running back, who is set to become a free agent after this season, is expected to make a full recovery, sources added.

With Dobbins out, rookie RJ Harvey , a second-round pick by Denver, assumes the role of lead back. Through 10 games, Harvey has 50 carries for 214 yards, plus 25 receptions. He also has the team's longest run this season -- 50 yards against the Tennessee Titans in Week 1.
