The West Kelowna Warriors came up short in their comeback bid Friday night, falling 4–2 to the Cranbrook Bucks in the opener of a two-game weekend series at Western Financial Place.
West Kelowna controlled much of the first period, dictating pace and sustained pressure while keeping the Bucks to the outside. Despite the strong start, the Warriors couldn’t capitalize and entered the first intermission in a scoreless tie.
Momentum shifted dramatically in the second. Cranbrook struck first with a shorthanded marker from Kaslo Ferner, who converted off a turnover to make it 1–0. Less than a minute later, Mitch Patrick doubled the Bucks’ lead with a quick shot that put the Warriors on the back foot.
