HARRISON COUNTY, Miss. (WLOX) - On Saturday, Harrison County Fire Rescue, Gulfport Fire Department and Combat Readiness Training Center fire crews responded to a fire in a home off of Walter Smith Road.
According to a Facebook post by Harrison County Fire Rescue officials, three residents and a dog escaped the fire, which began some time before 7:30 a.m.
Those officials said the home was heavily damaged by the fire. They said it took firefighters about twenty minutes to bring the fire under control.
Officials determined the fire was started by a space heater that was placed too close to paper and clothing
