INDIANAPOLIS — The government shutdown saw a significant spike in the need for food assistance and that need hasn't gone away despite the shutdown ending this week.
On Saturday, Nov. 15, the Indianapolis Office of Public Health and Safety teamed up with The Bridge Indy and Charity Cares for another food distribution event.
The people who stopped by got not only food, but also a little hope.
"Everybody is in this food insecurity right now," Pastor Jeffrey Thomas II with The Bridge Indy and Charity Cares said. "There's resources we don't have and resources we do have.
