PHOENIX — The Mohave County Sheriff's K9 Foundation recently announced that one of their K9s will have to have amputation surgery due to an injury caused by a crash in 2022.
K9 Brutus will have his front left leg amputated on Nov. 17, the foundation said, due to a nerve damage issue.
"Doctors are confident this nerve damage issue started in the shoulder from the I-15 accident where Brutus' patrol vehicle was struck by a passing vehicle in May of 2022," a statement from the foundation said. "The damage has radiated from the shoulder down the leg causing the current issues. Tests on Brutus' leg have proven the leg is not feeling any pain, pressure, or receiving any use."
