JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Residents from North Riverside to Durkeeville gathered Saturday to learn how their feedback is shaping the next phase of Jacksonville’s Emerald Trail project. Groundwork Jacksonville, along with city partners, hosted a community meeting to present updated trail alignments and discuss funding, timelines and next steps.

Groundwork Jacksonville says the revisions are a direct result of input collected during meetings earlier this year.

“We’re presenting what I would say is the final draft of the trail routes for four segments, for six, seven and eight,” Groundwork Jacksonville CEO Kay Ehas said.

The CEO also announced that segments three and four are moving forward, supported by local gas tax dollars.

However, segments six, seven and eight are still awaiting funding
