TOLEDO -- The first meeting between the ECHL Central Division’s biggest rivals comes at 7:15 p.m. today when the Komets visit the Toledo Walleye at the Huntington Center in Toledo.

The Komets and Walleye met in the Central Division Finals last season, with Toledo winning the series in six games. Defenseman Jalen Smereck was one of the key pieces in the Walleye's series win and their entire run to the Kelly Cup Finals. Tonight marks his first meeting with the Walleye since signing with the Komets late in the offseason.

Before tonight’s game, the Komets announced the signing of forward Odeen Tufto after he broke his leg in the playoffs in April. Tufto told the Journal Gazette in October that he might be able to play by the end of November, provided he receives clearance from doctors. He wa
