NEW ORLEANS —

New Orleans Police are investigating a carjacking that happened on Lincoln Beach Boulevard early Saturday.

Police said three men were stopped in heavy traffic just before 3 a.m. on Lincoln Beach Road and Jourdan Road. Advertisement

The victims said an unknown subject approached the car and opened the car door before taking a firearm from the center console.

The victims were allowed to leave the scene, but the suspects followed them in a white SUV.

When the victims stopped at a dead end, the victims then ordered all victims to exit the car at gunpoint, and two of the victims were pistol-whipped.

The suspects fled in both cars.

This is an ongoing investigation.
