HOLLAND, Mich. — Just one day after the grand opening of the Holland Ice Park, some sessions were canceled on Saturday due to warm temperatures.
According to the Holland Department of Parks and Recreation, the 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. open skate sessions and curling sheet reservations were canceled "due to warm temperatures and wind affecting the condition of the ice."
Attendees received text and email confirmation of the cancellation with additional information.
According to the Parks and Recreation Department website, Saturday also had skating and curling sessions scheduled for 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. There was no word that they were canceled.
The Holland Ice Park is along the edge of Window on the Waterfront Park and features fire pits, a skating ribbon, an ice pond and a curling sheet.
