Pat McQuaide hit Antonio Johnson with a 17-yard touchdown in overtime as Villanova walked off with a 30-27 win over Stony Brook on Saturday.
The win improves Villanova to 8-1 on the season and 7-1 in the CAA. They keep the pressure on Rhode Island, who leads the league at 7-0 with one game left, while Villanova ends the regular season with a nonleague clash against Sacred Heart.
The decision extends the Wildcats’ winning streak at Villanova Stadium to 21 games, the longest active streak in FCS. It’s the first overtime win for Villanova since 2019.
