Conor Talty didn’t even get a chance to try.
The Crimson Tide trailed by two in the final minutes of the game. But Alabama, out of field-goal range, couldn’t convert on fourth down. Turnover on downs. Game over.
No. 11 Oklahoma upset No. 4 Alabama 23-21 on Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
Talty didn’t get a chance to win the game for Alabama then, but he could have earlier.
He missed a kick at the end of the first half. Had Talty made that, the game would have been tied at halftime and Alabama wouldn’t have been trailing by two late in the fourth quarter.
