In his sixth game as Auburn ’s quarterback, Bo Nix completed 11-of-27 passes for 145 yards with one touchdown and three interceptions in a 24-13 loss to Florida. Now in his second season as the Denver Broncos quarterback, Nix had that game from Oct. 5, 2019, on his mind this week.
As a freshman from Pinson Valley High School, Nix had helped Auburn start the 2019 season with five consecutive victories before the Tigers lost to the Gators.
Why would a downer of a game from six years ago come to mind for Nix now? The Broncos haven’t lost since Sept. 21.
In the two most recent of its seven consecutive victories, Denver scored a total of 28 points. And while Broncos coach Sean Payton said of the offensive slump, “I think it’s not Bo,” plenty of outside observers think otherwise.
