More than a dozen people were collecting community ideas about what to do for Chilhowee Park and how to invest in East Knoxville.
“Our ask is very simple right now. It’s to unlock Chilhowee Park,” said Tanner Jessel.
The discussion began after Emerald Youth’s proposal to buy a piece of the land to build a sports and recreation facility. After an extensive amount of discussion across several meetings, Knoxville City Council voted to withdraw the proposal.
